Gary Komarin was born in 1951 in New York. He studied Art and English at the University of Albany State, thereafter follows an Art School at the New York Studio School and Brooklyn Museum School under the observation of Philip Guston.
Komarin counts as one of important representatives of American abstract expressionism. His works are defined by a monumental presence, subtle changing colour pigments and undefined elements that interact with each other.
His works are present in museums, galleries worldwide and private collections, rewarded with scholarships and awards several times over the past years.
Komarin lives and works in Roxbury, Connecticut.
